Professional Musician, Concert and Festival organizer, teacher                                                                1996-Present

  • Violin instructor at Ottawa City and Carleton University
  • Performed as soloist with orchestras, chamber player and at festivals and giving master classes in Albania, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, Macedonia, Paraguay, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Russia, Switzerland, Uruguay, UK and USA
  • Since 2006 performed in the Residency of the following embassies and ambassadors; Danish Ambassador’s Residency, Netherland’s Ambassador Residency, The Apostolic Nunciature (Holy See Embassy), Polish Embassy, Bulgarian Embassy, as well played concerts in collaboration with Bulgarian, Romanian, Polish, Sanish, Portuguese, Irish, EU delegation, Netherlands and Serbian Embassies in Ottawa.

  • November 28-30, 2012 Organizing Fifth Days of Canadian Culture in Sofia, Bulgaria
  • October 22, 2012 participation in a concert at Notre Dame Cathedral sponsored by the Polish Embassy and The Holy See Embassy and under their patronage
  • September 28, 2012 organized a concert promoting the music of Bulgarian-Canadian composers with a grant from SOCAN foundation, reception was given by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria
  • August 6, 2012 Ottawa Chamber Festival, premiered a piece composed for my by Evelyn Stroobach
  • 2011 Grant from Ottawa City Arts Funding to record a CD (in production)
  • 2010 Grant from FACTOR for Demo CD

  • 2008 Grant from Canada Arts Council
  • 2007-2008 The Canadian Embassy in Romania granted Mrs. Tcholakova the budget for cultural activities for Bulgaria for 2007 and 2008 to organize Second and Third edition of Days of Canadian Culture, held in Sofia
  • 2006 The Canadian Embassy in Romania provided their budget for cultural activities for Bulgaria for 2006 as personal grant to me in order to organize Days of Canadian culture, held in Sofia November 24-26, 2006
  • 2006 Grant from the Department of Foreign Affairs in support of Latin American tour performances April/May
  • 2005 Grant from European Cultural Foundation “Plan Europe 2000” for 2006 in connection with Mozart’s 250th anniversary for presenting workshops on Mozart Effect in Bulgaria
